A Method for the Determination of Diffusion Constants and the Calculation of the Radius and Weight of the Hemoglobin Molecule
نویسندگان
چکیده
A method is described for determining the diffusion coefficient of solutes by determining the rate of passage of the solute through a thin porous membrane between two solutions of different concentration. The method has been used to determine the diffusion coefficient of carbon monoxide hemoglobin. This was found to be 0.0420 +/- 0.0005 cm.(2) per day at 5 degrees C. The molecular weight of carbon monoxide hemoglobin calculated by means of Einstein's equation from this quantity is 68,600 +/- 1,000.

Effect of Induced Dipole-Induced Dipole Potential and the Size of Colliding Particles on Ion-Quadrupolar Molecule Collision Rate Constants
Classical trajectory (Monte Carlo) calculation is used to calculate collision rate constants of ion-quadrupolar molecule interactions for the H¯+C2H2 system. The method presented here takes into account the effect of the induced dipole-induced dipole potential on ion-quadrupolar molecule collision rate constants. It is also assumed that the colliding particles have a d...
متن کاملDetermination of e ω , e e x ω , e B , and e α using potential energy functions for heteronuclear diatomic molecules via spreadsheet program
In order to represent the potential energy function over the whole range of R, many potentialenergy functions have been proposed. In the present paper, we employ many potential energyfunctions, to use Numerov method for solving the nuclear Schrödinger equation for the IFmolecule, as an example of a heteronuclear diatomic molecules. Then we determine thespectroscopic constants eω , e e x ω , e B...
متن کاملNumerical Calculation of Resonant Frequencies and Modes of a Three-Atom Photonic Molecule and a Photonic Crystal in an External Cavity
In the present paper, resonant frequencies and modes of a three-atom photonic molecule and a photonic crystal placed within a cavity are numerically calculated. First, governing formulation in transverse electric field mode (TE) is obtained using Maxwell equations. Then, an algorithm based on a finite difference scheme and matrix algebra is presented. The algorithm is then implemented in a comp...
متن کاملDetermination of Acidity Constants of p-Rosolic acid and Bromoxylenol Blue by Solution Scanometric Method
Recently solution scanometry, as a new, simple, fast, portable, and economic method was introduced for determination of acidity constants of indicator and dyes. In this study, a method was applied for the determination of the acidity constant of p-Rosolic acid (RA) and Bromoxylenol blue (BXB) indicators. The method is based on scanning of Plexiglas® sheet containing colored solutions with a fla...
متن کاملFinite integration method with RBFs for solving time-fractional convection-diffusion equation with variable coefficients
In this paper, a modification of finite integration method (FIM) is combined with the radial basis function (RBF) method to solve a time-fractional convection-diffusion equation with variable coefficients. The FIM transforms partial differential equations into integral equations and this creates some constants of integration. Unlike the usual FIM, the proposed method computes constants of integ...
